Practice will be held at Bloomington South High School beginning this Tuesday, May 15th, 6:30 pm. We will be at South until further notice.

It’s full pads on May 15th. Come prepared for full contact.

The opening game is only 5 weeks away. Get the rest of your teammates out to practice!

Mark “Share the Meat” Freeman Joins Coaching Staff

Mark Freeman has joined the Cutters as the linebackers coach. For the past 30 years Mark has coached youth and middle school football, baseball and all levels of wrestling.

Mark supervised the linebackers at practice last Thursday night and taught his unique tackling swarm cry of “Share the Meat”.

“I love his energy and drive,” said head coach Jay McCool. “Maybe its because we’re both military.”

Coach Freeman is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force while Coach McCool spent almost ten years in the Army.

Practice Starts Sat., April 21st, Brown Elementary School

The Cutters begin practice on Saturday, April 21st, 10:00 am, at Brown Elementary School, 573 W. Simpson Chapel Rd., Bloomington, IN 47404.

Players should report promptly at 10:00 am. Practice will end at 2:00 pm.

Bring a Gatorade and a Power Bar to eat during the half-time between practices.

Cutters Open at Home vs. Wildcats

The Interstate Football League released the 2012 game schedule this week. The Cutters will open at home on Saturday, June 16th with a re-match of the 2011 championship game against the West Central Wildcats.

The Cutters will alternate home and away games each week during the 2012 season. The schedule calls for the team to play each of the four teams in the Southern Division twice – once home and once away. The Cutters will also play the Noble County Wolfpack, from the Northern Division, twice.

“We have our work cut out for us,” said head coach Jay McCool. “The IFL is very strong this year and it will take a full season of effort to achieve our championship goals.”

The IFL playoffs start September 8th and will consist of two games – a semi-final and a final. Only the top two teams from each division will make the playoffs. The championship game will be played on September 15th.

The Iron Pit Gym of Bloomington will again offer free membership to all Players on the 2012 roster from April 1st to October 1st. 2012 marks the 5th consecutive year the Iron Pit has sponsored the team.

The Utilities District of Western Indiana REMC has renewed its major sponsorship of the Cutters for the third consecutive year.

“We are privileged and honored to have UDWI REMC as a major sponsor again this year,” said team president, John Shean. “Their dedication to the team helps lower player fees and allows us to operate the Cutters organization at a high level.”

Team Meeting March 31st

The Cutters will hold a team meeting for all players on Saturday, March 31st at 4:00 pm at the Warehouse, 1525 S. Rogers St., Bloomington.

At the meeting Head Coach Jay McCool will reveal the results of the 2012 tryouts, the pre-season practice schedule and other details about the 2012 season. The meeting will be over by 5:00 pm.

IFL 2012 Season

The 2012 IFL season will consist of 10 regular season games beginning June 16th. Bye weeks for all teams will be July 7th and September 1st.
The league is divided into a North and a South division. The Cutters belong to the South division along with the Wildcats, the Destroyers, the Eagles, and the Xtreme.
The game schedule will be announced in mid-March but the Cutters will play each divisional team at home and away. We will also play two inter-divisional games.
The top two teams from each division will make the playoffs which begin September 8th. The IFL Championship game is September 15th.

Josh Page Joins Coaching Staff

Josh Page has joined the coaching staff as an offensive assistant focusing on the offensive line. Josh played center at Owen Valley High School before serving as a high school football official. Last year Josh coached the offensive line at Cloverdale High School.
